Business Development Manager (Brand and Insight)

The role

The business development manager (brand and insight) will be responsible for helping grow the research business and strengthening our research project pipeline. Primary responsibilities will include finding new clients, securing meetings so the brand and insight team can pitch their research services and finding and creating opportunities for the team to submit research proposals. There will also be a requirement to support on research projects.

Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Researching organisations to find potential new clients
  • ‘Cold calling’ to arrange meetings at clients’ premises
  • Selling our research products and services to new and existing clients
  • Finding out what a potential client needs and briefing the brand and insight team so they can design a proposal
  • Maintaining a thorough and accurate contact database
  • Building and maintaining strong positive relationships with new and existing clients
  • Networking at events and conferences
  • Identifying new and compelling ways to sell our research products and services
  • Supporting the brand and insight team during busy periods by helping with project set-up, fieldwork, and co-writing presentations

  • Sales and marketing experience, ideally with experience of selling research products and services
  • Experience of working to specific targets

  • Excellent project management
